4 more suspects connected to the Lusikisiki mass murders have been arrested
Four more suspects have been detained in connection with the Lusikisiki massacre, which took place in the Eastern Cape’s Ngobozana village and resulted in the deaths of eighteen people.
The suspects’ names and photos were released by the police on Tuesday night, along with an assertion that they were connected to the massacre.
“Police received a tip-off from a community member that the wanted suspects were hiding at a rented accommodation at Mkholombe informal settlement in Port Shepstone. A swift operation was put in motion and the three suspects, aged 22, 24 and 31 years old, were arrested. “The operation is ongoing with police searching for a firearm which the suspects allegedly used in the commission of the crime.” said KZN police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda
A few hours later, in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, three of the suspects were taken into custody at Port Shepstone following an intelligence-driven operation. Moments thereafter, the fourth suspect was taken into custody.
