Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has named one Kaizer Chiefs player he wants to see in Bafana Bafana.
The retired midfielder praised Amakhosi’s Samkelo Zwane during the Cufa Cup match on Sunday afternoon. Chiefs edged out Marumo Gallants 4-3 on penalties to claim the trophy after the game ended 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Kekana, who captained Sundowns for half a decade, says Kaizer Chiefs’ Samkeo Zwane has impressed him. Speaking on SABC Sports, explained the qualities of the 22-year-old Amakhosi midfielder.
“I fancy young Samkelo Zwane to be the player that they can rely on in terms of being on the ball more,” Kekana said as per iDiski Times.
“This is a player that I believe this coming season he should be in the Bafana team because of the quality that he possesses.
“He knows how to play the longer and the shorter passes, he knows how to play in the half spaces.”
Ex-Sundowns captain praises Kaizer Chiefs midfielder
“This is a player that I believe is complete and needs to be guided properly and they’ve got a nice coach in Nabi.
“And looking how the way things have been going from the first match to the Sundowns match I believe this a team that is going to compete and is going to cause a lot of trouble for other teams,” Kekana said.
Kaizer Chiefs are in action this coming weekend against SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Cup. After that, they face the same team a week later in the Betway Premiership.
